2025 Audi A3 adds on-demand functionality, high-riding variations

The Audi A3 has been given a mild update that brings some styling tweaks, new cabin technology, and in some markets an option for a high-riding variant called the A3 All Street.

The A3 All Street is based on the A3 Sportback hatchback body style and is not intended for the US.

The updated A3 will go on sale in Europe later this month. In the U.S., it will be available later this year as a 2025 model. Full specifications for our markets, including pricing information, will be announced closer to the sales launch date.

Styling updates made to the updated A3 are subtle and include a new fascia design and new internals for the lights at both ends. Owners have the option to change the pattern of the daytime running lights using the infotainment system through four preset designs.

For the interior, designers have added new details to the gear shifter and air vents, and new options for trim and dash accents. They also added standard items such as a leather-trimmed multifunction steering wheel and an ambient lighting package. A digital screen serves as the hub for the instrument cluster and infotainment.

New features added in this update are on-demand capabilities: the MyAudi app allows owners to add several features to their cars at any time. These features include support for Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, as well as adaptive cruise control, automatic high beams, and an air conditioning upgrade that adds a two-zone function. All features can be reserved for one month, six months, one year, three years, or permanently.

The new A3 All Street is 0.6 inches taller than the standard A3 Sportback. It also gets a grille design similar to the one Audi uses on its crossovers and darkened side skirts, as well as a slightly higher seating position that Audi said will make getting in and out easier.

Audi has not mentioned any powertrain upgrades for the A3 in the United States. The compact sedan is currently sold with a 2.0-liter turbo four mated to a mild hybrid system and a seven-speed dual-clutch transmission with 201 hp and 236 lb-ft of torque. Front-wheel drive is standard, and all-wheel drive is also available.

More powerful S3 and RS 3 variants are offered, and updated versions of these should be revealed soon. Audi said in February that the updated S3 would get more power, as would the RS 3's rear torque splitter.

Production of all variants of the A3 takes place at Audi's plant in Ingolstadt, Germany.
