The Speedcore Dodge Demon's carbon fiber Speedcore body is for sale for $170,000.
The 2018 Dodge Challenger SRT Demon may be one of the most powerful muscle cars, but it is not the lightest. In fact, its curb weight is over 4,000 pounds.
The car relies on its massive power figures to check multiple production car firsts records. But what if owners want to shed some of that extra weight, and SpeedKore Performance Group has a solution: carbon fiber.
The Grafton, Wisconsin-based company is known for its OEM-quality carbon fiber body panels, all of which are manufactured using its own autoclaves. And in 2018, it unveiled a collection of four carbon fiber-bodied Demons, all of which are tuned to deliver 1,400 horsepower, or enough power to run an 8-second time in the quarter-mile.
One of those four cars is currently for sale, with only 6 miles on the odometer. The car is for sale at BJ Motors in Tomball, Texas, with an asking price of $169,995.
According to the duPont Registry listing, the addition of carbon-fiber body panels has been used to reduce the vehicle's weight by 200 pounds. The carbon is finished with a clear coat that nicely matches the black leather and Alcantara used in the cabin. To offset all the black, the original owner chose a red finish for the Demon logo on the side of the car.
For hypercar-like power, the car is powered by Demon's twin-turbocharged 6.2-liter V-8 engine, which helps deliver 26 psi of boost pressure to the mighty motor.
It also features a reinforced torque converter, carbon fiber driveshafts, a rear differential brace to strengthen the rear end, and a 10-point roll cage to protect the driver even at ridiculous speeds.
If you're looking for the meanest of daemons, this is it.
