The Mercedes-Benz E-Class has reached the halfway point of its life cycle and has received a major refresh that will make it look and feel fresh.
The updated E-Class, which will go on sale later this year, was unveiled in early March and will be available as a 2021 model, with the entire range once again including the first E-Class soft-top station wagon in the US.
In addition, an updated version of AMG's E63 Sledgehammer is being prepared for release, which was recently spotted testing in a station wagon body. Previously, the sedan was also spotted testing as well.
The car will receive significant changes: the headlights will have a design similar to those on the latest GLE SUV.
The grille and front fascia are also likely to get a more aggressive look. The E53, which has already been shown to the public, has a slightly more subdued version of this new look.
The cabin will feature Mercedes' latest infotainment system called MBUX, which features a large touchscreen that can be operated like a smartphone or tablet. This infotainment system also features natural voice activation.
As for powertrains, the E63 should remain with the 4.0-liter twin-turbocharged V8, while a more powerful E63 S station wagon will be available in the United States. Power for the current E63 S station wagon is 603 hp, and an update could add a few more.
It is expected to debut later this year.
