2025 Porsche Panamera adds GTS and Turbo S E-Hybrid models

Porsche is redesigning the Panamera for the 2024 model year, and the second year of the third-generation hatchback's launch will include new models, including a new Turbo S E-Hybrid flagship.

The Turbo S E-Hybrid, unveiled Thursday, will join other Panamera models to be added in 2025, including the sporty GTS and the already announced Turbo E-Hybrid, 4S E-Hybrid and 4 E-Hybrid. The base Panamera will also be carried over from the previous year.

The Turbo S E-Hybrid is the most powerful Panamera ever. It delivers a maximum output of 771 hp from a plug-in hybrid powertrain that combines a twin-turbocharged 4.0-liter V8 engine and a single electric motor integrated into a standard 8-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission.

Drive is provided by all four wheels, and Porsche estimates the Turbo S E-Hybrid's sprint time from standstill to 60 mph at full throttle is 2.8 seconds, 0.2 seconds faster than its predecessor. Top speed is up 8 mph to 202 mph.

Porsche also recently announced that the car lapped the 12.9-mile length of the Nürburgring in just 7 minutes, 24.17 seconds. This lap time was achieved with Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2 tires and the Panamera's carbon aero kit. The latter includes a 4-way adjustable rear spoiler with gurney flaps.

All E-Hybrid Panameras are plug-in hybrids, and the new generation features faster charging, improved throttle response, and a larger battery than the previous generation. The battery has been increased from 17.9 kwh to 25.9 kwh, and as a result, owners can expect a range that exceeds the current Panamera plug-in hybrid's EPA-rated 20 miles.

Standard equipment on the Turbo S E-Hybrid includes dark bronze-finished exhaust tips, Porsche Active Ride suspension, ceramic composite brake rotors, rear-wheel steering and 21-inch center-lock wheels. Also included are Turbo Night color accents exclusive to Porsche's Turbo models.

Porsche also unveiled the GTS on Thursday. Aimed at buyers who want a sportier Panamera, but not as extreme or expensive as the Turbo E-Hybrid or Turbo S E-Hybrid, the GTS omits electrification and is powered by a twin-turbo V-8, exclusive to Turbo models. Maximum output is 493 hp, 20 hp more than the previous GTS. Porsche claims a 0-60 mph time of 3.6 seconds and a top speed of 188 mph.

The GTS, which uses standard Panamera dual-valve dampers, has a unique suspension tune that lowers the car's height by 0.4 inches compared to lower Panamera models. It also features stiffer springs and a strengthened anti-roll bar.

The Panamera GTS and Turbo S E-Hybrid models are available for order, with deliveries expected to begin in early 2025. Prices start at $156,195 for the GTS and $228,495 for the Turbo S E-Hybrid. Both include a $1,995 destination charge.
