SVE will attack again with a 1,000 hp 2024Yenko / SC corvette

In the 1960s, the Pennsylvania dealer Yenko Chevrolet muscle car was highly regarded for its performance changes. Today, the car is one of the most collectible of its time.1

However, there are also new Yenkos in the production, but this time the name is used under a license from the owner General Marketing Capital. Specialty Vehicle Engineering (SVE) makes the car, and the latest product is the 2024 Yenko/SC Corvette, with a stout 1,000 horsepower.

The Yenko/SC brand "SC" traditionally stands for "supercharged", but the 2024 Yenko/SC Corvette features a twin turbocharged version of the c8 Corvette's 6.2-liter V-8. However, the SVE does not just slap a pair of turbo and call it 1 day.

Toms River, NJ, is rebuilding the engine with forged internal structures, transplanted cylinder heads, upgraded valve trains, custom intercooled intake manifolds and high-flow fuel systems. The Corvette's 8-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission also ensures that it can handle a full 1,000 hp

SVE also offers many upgrades beyond the powertrain. Buyers can opt for Yenko/SC body graphics; aerodynamic elements, including the new rear wing, side skirt, and front splitter; plus custom forged wheels measure 19 inches at the front and 20 inches at the rear. Sve uses Nitto summer tires for its rubber. SVE will add custom Yenko brand calipers, but there will be no major brake upgrades.

Interior options include custom badges and floor mats, a "sYc" logo embroidered on the headrest and a door sill with a "Yenko/SC" script.

Buyers can choose between coupe or convertible body styles, only 10 builds are planned for the 2024 model, and a further 50 will be offered in 2025. Readers in California should note that upgrades are not legal emissions in the state.

The SVE includes a 3-year/36,000-mile limited warranty on the powertrain. Price information is not published.
