2024 Ford Mustang Mach E starting at $41,890, performance increase

Ford has announced several updates to the 2024 Mustang Mach-E, in addition to the already announced Bronze Appearance Package and the new "Rally" flagship grade.

The order book is already open, and some grades will offer improved range and performance, as well as reduced charging times.

Ford also managed to keep pricing in line with the reduced 2023 numbers. The starting price is $41,890, only $195 more than last year's price.

The starting price is for the Select grade with rear-wheel drive and a 72 kwh standard range battery. Further up, the Premium starts at $45,890, also with rear-wheel drive and a Standard Range battery.

For range fans, the combination of rear-wheel drive and a 91 kwh extended-range battery gives it a range of 320 miles. With the Standard Range Battery, that number is reduced to 250 miles; this is Ford's own estimate, as official EPA figures have not yet been released. Adding all-wheel drive reduces the range by 20 miles for both batteries.

For performance enthusiasts, Ford will continue to offer the GT grade and the new Rally grade. Both come standard with all-wheel drive and Extended Range batteries; the GT starts at $55,890 and has an estimated range of 280 miles. These include a 10-way adjustable sport seat for the driver, adjustable shocks, and Brembo front brake calipers.

The Rally grade starts at $61,890 and has an estimated 265 miles. Strikingly, the Rally grade price is roughly $5,000 less than the price Ford quoted when the grade was revealed last fall. All prices include a $1,895 destination charge.

Performance upgrades are available on the GT grade and are standard on the Rallye. It is a stand-alone option for $995, or $745 with the wheel and tire upgrade. Peak power remains the same at 480 hp, but torque is increased by 100 lb-ft, 0-60 mph acceleration is 3.3 seconds, and quarter-mile ET is 11.8 seconds at 114 mph (according to Ford). This means that the Mach E is faster than the Tesla Model Y Performance.

Ford claims that the new in-house developed rear motor and new thermal management and electric motor control algorithms provide additional performance.

In terms of charging, the Mach-E grade with the Extended Range battery can now be charged from 10-80% in about 36 minutes. With the Standard Range battery, it takes about 32 minutes, more than 5 minutes faster than before.
