2025 Porsche Tecan Turbo GT debuts with maximum output of 1,092 hp.

Porsche on Monday unveiled the new Taycan Turbo GT, the highly anticipated flagship of its updated 2025 Taycan series.

The electric super sedan will be available at dealers this summer, starting at $231,995, including a $1,995 destination charge, Porsche said. A Weissach Truck package will also be available and, unusually, can be added at no extra charge.

This pricing makes the Taycan Turbo GT one of the most expensive models in Porsche's lineup, but its performance approaches or exceeds that of more expensive cars.

Updates to the 2025 Taycan range will add more power to most grades, with the Turbo S delivering up to 938 hp. In the Turbo GT, a more powerful pulse inverter in the rear allows the dual-motor all-wheel drive system to deliver 777 hp standard and up to 1,092 hp temporarily when launch control is activated. When driving on the circuit, activating Attack Mode adds 160 hp to the standard output for 10 seconds.

The electric motor is controlled by a pulse inverter. The Turbo GT has a rating of 900 amps compared to the Turbo S's 600 amps. Silicon carbide is used as the semiconductor material for the pulse inverter, which Porsche states allows for higher switching frequencies, resulting in higher overall efficiency.

At full potential, the Turbo GT reaches 60 mph from a standstill in 2.2 seconds standard and 2.1 seconds with the Weissach package. Top speed is 180 mph standard and 190 mph with the Weissach package; this performance is similar to some top EVs, but its performance on the track is on a different level than most EVs.

The Turbo GT set a Nürburgring lap time of 7:07.55 with the Weissach package. This time is about 18 seconds faster than the time set by the Tesla Model S Plaid with its own track package and painfully close to the production EV lap record of 7:05.298 set at the Nürburgring by Rimac's hypercar, the Nevera. The Rimac boasts nearly 2,000 horsepower, though, and is priced in the millions of dollars.

Porsche also set an EV lap record at Laguna Seca with a time of 1:27.87.

The aforementioned Weissach package contributed to this time. In this package, the rear seat was removed to save weight. Instead, a carbon fiber cover with a storage system was installed in the area normally occupied by the rear seats. In addition, rear speakers, an analog clock from the Sport Chrono package, one of the car's external charging ports, and floor mats have been removed. The Weissach package also adds a number of aerodynamic features, including underbody air deflectors, a new front splitter, and a huge fixed rear wing. Together, these add up to 485 pounds of total downforce.

Both the standard Turbo GT and the car with the Weissach package come standard with many of the Tycann's features. These include carbon fiber accents inside and out, 21-inch forged wheels, and Porsche Active Ride air suspension tuned specifically for the Turbo GT. Also standard are carbon ceramic brake rotors, tightened by unique lightweight calipers finished in gold paint.

A total of six standard exterior colors are available, including the new Pale Blue Metallic and Purple Sky Metallic paints, which are exclusive to the 2025 Turbo GT. For the interior, sport seats with 18-way adjustment and memory functionality are standard. A badge with the Turbo GT script is placed under the climate control on the dash, and the same script is found on the headrests and door sill plates.
