Alfa Romeo to Launch Stelvio EV in 2025, Giulia EV to Follow

Alfa Romeo plans to launch at least one new EV every year until 2027, at which point all vehicles except the plug-in hybrid Tonale will have an EV option.

Alfa Romeo's EV onslaught begins next month with the unveiling of the Milano, a subcompact crossover that will be sold as an EV in most markets but will also offer a hybrid option in some. A prototype of the Milan has been spotted.

Alfa Romeo announced late last week that it will add an electric compact crossover, the Stelvio, in late 2025 and an electric compact sedan, the Giulia, in 2026, Reuters reported.

Although not yet confirmed, an electric mid-size SUV is expected to debut in 2027 as the last addition to Alfa Romeo's main lineup.

The new Stelvio and Giulia will be powered by parent company Sterantis' STLA Large platform, just as the recently unveiled 2024 Dodge Charger Daytona is also on the same platform, and hybrid options will be will be available.

Production will take place at the Sterantis plant in Cassino, Italy. Maserati, another Stellantis brand, also produces the Grecale crossover at this plant. The Grecale is related to the current Stelvio and is already available with an electric option.

According to Reuters, the new Stelvio and Giulia will be the first models to feature Sterantis' new electric architecture, known as STLA Brain. This is the software and hardware backbone that will allow extensive wireless updates to be easily implemented.

Alfa Romeo has previously confirmed that it will offer a high-performance Quadrifoglio version of its future EV. Rumors suggest that the Giulia Quadrifoglio will deliver nearly 1,000 hp.
