2024 Cadillac Celestic seen with open flank
An uncamouflaged prototype of the 2024 Cadillac Celestic was recently spotted with the front trunk open while waiting for a flatbed on the side of the road near General Motors' Milford Proving Ground in Michigan.
Because it is a prototype, the front trunk does not have the seal that is applied to production models. Also, the depth of the storage space cannot be seen in the photos.
The Celestic's main storage space is located at the rear of the vehicle and is accessed through a hatch. Cadillac has revealed a rear storage area lined with leather and accented with brushed aluminum, and the front storage area will also likely be dressed up to match the vehicle's price, which starts at $340,000.
Production of the Celestic began last month, and this sighting is likely a validation model for final testing and certification/registration. Cadillac is already taking orders from customers and the first deliveries are expected in the spring. The car will be available as a 2024 model.
The Celestic is a flagship electric vehicle based on GM's Ultium EV technology and battery set. It will feature a dual-motor all-wheel drive powertrain with a rated output of 600 hp and a 111 kwh battery with an expected range of approximately 300 miles. According to Cadillac, the ability to charge at up to 200 kwh will allow for nearly 80 additional miles of range on a 10-minute charge when using a DC fast charger.
Feature features include a 55.0-inch dash-wide digital display, a four-panel glass roof with individual transparency settings for driver and passengers, a 38-speaker AKG sound system, and the first use of GM's "Ultra Cruise" automatic driver assistance system. The first GM's "Ultra Cruise" automatic driver assistance system, among other features.
The first Celestic buyers were invited to spec the car last summer. All Celestic purchasers have a concierge on call and a Cadillac designer to suggest ideal configurations. As a result, no two Celestics are the same.
