2024 Toyota GR Yaris, 2025 Porsche 911 GT3: Top Photos of the Week

Several new concept cars and vehicles are currently on display at the 2024 Tokyo Auto Salon. One of them is the Toyota GR Yaris, which is equipped with a newly developed quick-shift automatic transmission that Toyota says can deliver faster lap times than a manual.

Also on display in Tokyo was the new Nissan Alya Nismo. This electric crossover is a much more lukewarm effort than Toyota's hot hatch, but it benefits from some serious performance upgrades, including an aerodynamic package and power upgrades.

This week also saw the 2024 CES. Honda unveiled its 0 (zero) series of electric vehicles at the Las Vegas event. One of the cars, dubbed the Saloon, will spawn a production version to be sold in the U.S. in 2026.

Mullen unveiled the Five RS at CES, an electric compact crossover with over 1,000 horsepower that promises to match the performance of the Tesla Model S Plaid.

Vietnam's VinFast made its CES debut with two vehicles, one of which was the VF Wild electric truck concept. It is a mid-size vehicle with handsome styling and a flexible midgate that can extend the length of the cargo bed from 5 to 8 feet.

One of the cars of the future we witnessed this week was the updated Porsche 911 GT3. The refreshed track star is expected to receive the mildest of tweaks, one of which will be a fully digitized instrument cluster.

Another Porsche in the headlines this week was an original 962 Group C racing car for sale. This car was the last of the 962s built by Swiss-based Brunn Motorsports, including the 1991 24 Hours of Le Mans race.

And finally, Dodge teased a successor to the Challenger muscle car. The car, which was teased by the Dodge Charger Daytona SRT concept, is expected to go on sale later this year and, contrary to initial claims, may offer a choice of gas or electric powertrains.
