New Ferrari Trailer Teases Adam Driver's Performance as Enzo
The film about Ferrari founder Enzo Ferrari, which has been in development for decades, will finally be released in theaters in December. A new trailer was released on the 25th.
This follows the first trailer released on May 8, but this time there are several dialogues that give us the first real insight into Adam Driver's performance as commander.
Michael Mann's "Ferrari" focuses on Ferrari's life during a very difficult year when he was about 60 years old in 1957, due to the driver's gray hair.
In the same year, the Ferrari 335s had burst tires during the Mille Miglia race. The car flew into the crowd, killing the driver, navigator and 9 spectators, many of whom were children. Ferrari, who was on the verge of bankruptcy mourning the death of his eldest son Dino last year, appeared in court on manslaughter charges, but was eventually fired.
The film also stars Penelope Cruz and Shailene Woodley, who played the roles of Ferrari's wife Laura and his mistress Lena Lardy, respectively. Lardy is the mother of Ferrari's only surviving child, Piero Ferrari. Patrick Dempsey, an avid racing driver, also appears, playing the role of racing driver Piero Taruffi.
There used to be biographical films about Ferrari, especially the 2003 Italian film Ferrari, but the latter film became a Hollywood dream after Ferrari's death in 1988, and possibly earlier. For a long time it was staged in the project of director Sidney Pollack "Passion", but the director died before it was realized.
Mann, who previously directed many popular films, including "Heat" in 1995 and "Ali" in 2001, has also been associated with the project since at least 2000. In a recent interview, he said that in 1967, when he first saw 275GTB rolling through the streets of London, as a film student, he was inspired to make a film about Enzo Ferrari.
