Lucid Gravity electric SUV debuts at the 2023LA Auto Show
The innovative Lucid air sedan, the sequel to the Gravity SUV, will debut on November 16 at the Los Angeles Auto Show in 2023, the California-based EV startup announced Thursday via social media.
Production will continue in the second half of 2024, the company added. The timing indicates that gravity will appear in the US as a 2025 model
Lucid previously announced the November debut of Gravity, and a teaser shot of a disguised prototype test photo was previously published, in addition to the prototype photo, Gravity is the engine that its platform uses. The platform has a modular design called LEAP (advanced Lucid Electric platform).
It supports more than 1,200 hp and is estimated to have a range of more than 500 miles. The Gravity's specifications were not disclosed, but Lucid said it offers a longer range than any electric SUV on the market today.
This is impressive, since gravity is a medium-sized SUV that the buyer splits into three rows and offers up to 7 seats. Buyers can also choose from a choice of 5 seats in 2 rows or 6 seats in 3 rows to get 2 separate seats with a reclining 2nd row.
Gravity also has a glass roof like the air, and Lucid confirmed that the SUV will be equipped with a next-generation digital dashboard with the company's latest user interface and automatic driver assistance technology.
Production will be carried out at the same plant in Casa Grande, Arizona, where air is being built. Production of semi-assembled (partially assembled) samples can also be established in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, where Lucid recently opened its second plant.
Lucid is located in Los Angeles. We plan to start the Gravity booking process after its debut. The company does not give any indication about prices, but just as Lucid did with Air, Gravity may appear in more expensive variants. The Air was launched in 2020, but the entry-level pure RWD class, starting at 77th position, 400 miles to its destination, was launched just this month.
