The 2023 American Grand Prix starts in the American Triple Header

The 19th stage of the Formula 1 World Championship 2023 will be held this weekend at the continental circuit of the United States in Austin, Texas. This race is the 3rd of 2 races in the USA this season and the first of the North American races with a triple race, including races in Mexico and Brazil in the coming weeks.

With a 20-mile track consisting of 3.4 turns, the American track is one of the best on the calendar, as it is primarily designed with Formula 1.1 racing in mind. Some of its turns resemble the turns of the Formula 1 track in the past and present.

Some turns are faster than Spa-Francorchamps and slower than Hangaroling, which makes the track a great challenge for both the team and the rider.

Pirelli named the composition of the mid-range tires for the weekend: C2 - white hard, C3 - yellow medium, and C4 - red soft.

It has always been interesting to watch the US Grand Prix, and this year a sprint race will be held on Saturday, and the main race will continue on Sunday, so this season the sprint race has become an independent event, not qualifying for the main race, as before. This allowed Red Bull Racing's Max Verstappen to win the 2023 World title before the previous main race in Qatar.

The title of champion of 2023 may have already been determined, but the fight for 2nd place is still very much alive, and there is still a record that can be broken

Verstappen also won a stage in Qatar, which was his 14th victory of the season. This means that his pace surpasses his own record of 5 wins in one season, which he set last year, since there are still 5 races on the calendar. In the race for 2nd place, Sergio Perez from Red Bull takes 2nd place, and Lewis Hamilton from Mercedes-Benz AMG - 3rd, with a difference of only 30 points.

At the end of the weekend, Verstappen's result in the 2023 Drivers' Championship is an unsurpassed 433 points. Perez scored 224 points and Hamilton scored 194. In the Constructors' Championship, Red Bull won the title at the Japanese Grand Prix. At the moment, the team has 623 points. Mercedes has 305 points in 2nd place, while Ferrari has 285 points in 3rd place. The winner in Texas last year was Verstappen, who played for Red Bull.
