Subaru unveiled the concept of an electric sports car at the Tokyo Motor Show

Subaru unveiled the concept of sports mobility at the 2023 Tokyo Motor Show to show what the company's electric sports car looks like.

The design, which is apparently inspired by the SVX of the 1990s, cannot be used in future production models, but some elements, such as body panels designed to improve airflow, and the use of lightweight materials such as forged carbon, could potentially appear on future Subaru electric vehicles., including sports cars. This is a good thing.

In the concept, the driver sits low and faces the square steering wheel. The independent screen not only performs the function of a digital sensor and an infotainment center, but is also capable of displaying information from side cameras, replacing traditional side mirrors.

Although there are no details about the powertrain, last year Subaru introduced the STI E-RA sports car concept as a test bed for high-performance EV technology. The concept was equipped with four electric motors, the total power of which was 1072 hp. The installation was also able to provide fast and accurate torque adjustment due to the independent control of each engine.

Subaru also unveiled a high-performance version of the Revog compact station wagon sold in Japan at the Tokyo Motor Show. The new version is called Levorg Layback.

The automaker also announced the concept of a flying taxi. This design, dubbed the air mobility concept, is similar to a multi-rotor drone that is large enough to carry multiple passengers. Subaru said engineers at its aerospace division are currently working on a prototype that can make a demonstration flight.
