The Nissan Sentra Det concept broadcasts SER thanks to Nismo
The name DET itself is a reference to retro. It stands for "dual overhead cam, electronic fuel injection and turbocharging", which refers to engines used in past Nissan sports models such as the Sylvia/180SX, Pulsar GTI-R, Skyline and Stagea.
Justifying its name, the Sentra DET has a 2.0-liter turbocharged version of the MR20DD inline engine used in the serial Sentra. Nissan did not name the output data, but noted several improvements, including new connecting rods and pistons, a lower compression ratio of 10.5:1 (compared to the standard 11.5:1), the Centra cup car's firmware and a prototype of the Nismo cat-back exhaust system.
Power is transmitted to the front wheels via a 6-speed manual transmission and a limited slip differential. The brake calipers and rotors are manufactured by Nissan Z, the suspension is designed by racing driver Brian Heitkotter, and the Nismo Swaber kit and the coilover concept are equipped with 18-inch wheels and Yokohama Advan Neova AD09 tires.
The exterior has mostly remained the same, with the exception of new graphics and carbon fiber mirror covers, and the interior has Recaro Sports Star CS front seats and Nismo urethane gearshift knobs.
Nissan presents 3 concepts at SEMA, while the remaining 2 focus on off-road characteristics. As part of the project, a 3.0-inch lifting kit and muddy tires will be added to Nissan's compact crossover, as well as the 2024 model will be updated to celebrate Nissan's introduction of Google's built-in features.
Nissan also demonstrates the concept of the frontier SUV, which plans to race on the Mexican highway Nora 500 before its appearance in Las Vegas.- Vegas. The track was built in partnership with Forsberg Racing, which worked with Nissan on previous SEMA builds, including the Altima drift car.
