Ineos Grenadier Quartermaster Pickup Truck Revealed

The Grenadier, a rugged SUV developed by British chemical giant Ineos and scheduled for launch in the US later this year, now has a crew cab pickup truck body style.

Called the Grenadier Quartermaster, the pickup truck made its debut at the 2023 Goodwood Festival of Speed in the UK on Thursday.

The Grenadier Quartermaster pickup truck is based on the body-on-frame platform shared with the Grenadier SUV, but has a longer wheelbase of 127 inches versus the SUV's 115 inches. The rear bed is just over 60 inches long and has a maximum payload capacity of 1,675 pounds. The pickup's maximum towing rating is 7,700 pounds, the same as the SUV's rating.

Other specifications include 10.4 inches of ground clearance, 31.5 inches of wading depth, and approach, breakover, and departure angles that Ineos claims are unmatched for a production pickup. Solid beam axles, supplied by Caro, are provided at both ends.

Buyers can choose between a diesel or gasoline engine, both of which are BMW-sourced turbo 3.0-liter inline six-cylinder units. Both are equipped with a four-wheel drive system with an eight-speed automatic and a two-speed transfer case. Differential lockers are available front and rear.

The Grenadier Quartermaster is already available for order in the UK, with prices starting at 66,215 British pounds (about $86,550). Ineos has not said whether the pickup will also be sold in the United States. It is possible that we may not see it due to the Chicken Tax, which imposes a 25% duty on foreign-made light trucks; the SUV will start at $71,500.

Production of the Grenadier will take place at the former Mercedes-Benz plant in Hambach, France.

Ineos is also working on an electric off-roader that will likely be smaller than the Grenadier, due in 2026,
