Mercedes-Benz EQS Manufacture Signature Edition adds distinctive details
Mercedes-Benz has unveiled a limited edition version of its EQS electric hatchback with an increased level of luxury.
The EQS Manufaktur Signature Edition will appear in U.S. dealerships this spring, bringing handcrafted elements; it will be available on the EQS 580 4Matic and AMG EQS grades, but not on the lower EQS 450+ and EQS 450 4Matic grades
Notes.
Most of the attention is focused on the interior, where hand-sewn Nappa leather is used on the seats, steering wheel, center console, lower dashboard, and door panels. The EQS 580 4Matic model also comes with a gloss black or rose gold key fob.
Four color combinations are available, two for each model: the EQS 580 4matic is available in silicon gray paint and mystic red leather, or rubellite red metallic and deep white leather. AMG EQS is available in night black magno or Kalahari Gold Magno, both in Deep White leather. According to Mercedes, the exterior colors are custom painted.
Manufacture is the name of Mercedes' personalization department, which offers a choice of exterior colors and interior trim materials beyond the standard choices. Originally called Designo Manufaktur, it has been available on the G-Class for several years. Mercedes expanded coverage to other models in 2021, including the S-Class, CLS-Class, and AMG GT 4-door coupe, and at that time said it would continue to expand the program in the future to other models, including the EQ line. That has finally happened.
Only a limited number of EQS Manufaktur Signature Edition sedans will be sold in the U.S., but Mercedes did not specify how many or how much they will cost. It is also unknown whether other EQ models will receive the Manufaktur treatment, although the recently announced Maybach EQS 680 SUV adds a more exclusive version of that model.
