2024 Chevy Silverado HD ZR2, 2025 Mini Cooper: top photos of the week

Mini this week unveiled its new hatch, which will go on sale next year as the 2025 Cooper. The fourth-generation modern Mini will be offered in gas and electric, with the latter to be built in China.

BMW's XM has created a more powerful range-topper called the Label Red, a 2024 model that will produce 738 hp, making it BMW's most powerful road car to date.

Chevrolet introduced a ZR2 version of the Silverado 2500HD. This is Chevrolet's third ZR2 off-road truck, following the Colorado and Silverado 1500, and is available with a choice of gas or diesel V-8.

Vigilante 4x4 is a Texas company that makes Jeep restomods like this 1966 Gladiator. The company specializes in full-size Jeeps, Jeep models sold between 1964 and 1991, and can offer rugged off-roaders with as much as 1,000 horsepower.

Ford has unveiled a Mustang-based electric drag racer that uses four motors to drive the rear wheels. The car produces four-digit horsepower, which Ford plans to use to break its own quarter-mile record for a full-body electric car.

China's BYD unveiled its own suspension technology. This technology allows the car to run even if a wheel is missing or damaged, and even allows the four wheels to jump into the air. The company also released a video of its electric hypercar, the Yangwang U9, successfully performing both stunts.

Lotus was spotted testing its upcoming electric sedan, rumored to be called the Envya. Lotus is moving beyond the realm of traditional sports cars with a new model aimed at mainstream buyers.

Audi is working on an update to the Q8 and a prototype was also spotted this week. The updated SUV is expected to hit showrooms later this year along with the recently unveiled Q8 E-Tron, but could have a new name.
