The Gordon Murray Automotive T.33 Spyder with a V12 engine is coming soon.

Gordon Murray Automotive will unveil the T.33 open-top supercar model on Tuesday.

The T.33 is the second model of legendary road and race car designer Gordon Murray's new car company. T.50 Supercar, which went into production in March after being driven by Murray himself.

The open-top T.33 is called the T.33 Spyder, and GMA published a teaser sketch suggesting the car would feature a manual top. According to Murray, he sketched the spyder before the coupe so that the T.33 design would work with both body styles.

"From the very beginning of the T.33 program, I had always planned to design a spyder. In fact, I sketched the spyder earlier than the coupe in order to respect the proportions."

First unveiled in early 2022, the T.33 will be the last V12-powered supercar for which GMA will rule out electrification. The company plans to produce 100 units of this coupe from 2024, after which all production capacity will be exhausted. The company doesn't mention production plans for the T.33 Spyder, but it's likely that production will also be limited to 100 units, which are probably already all filled. [The T.33 and T.50 are powered by the same Cosworth-designed 3.9-liter V12, but the two cars are quite different, right down to the unique carbon fiber and aluminum architecture: the T.33 has a conventional two-seat layout, while the T.50 has a three-seat layout. The advantage of the two-seat layout is that GMA was able to certify it for the American market. The T.50 had to be brought in under show business rules The T.33 has a two-seat layout and the T.50 has a three-seat layout.

The T.33's V12 engine produces a peak output of 606 hp and 332 lb-ft of torque. This is less than the T.50, but the engine still produces maximum power at 11,100 rpm. Buyers can also choose between a six-speed manual transmission and a box with paddle shifters, but we're told that only a small batch of these will be ordered.
