The GT Street R is the first of Techart's macho track upgrades.

Top German tuner Tech-Art will unveil a new line of upgrades at the 2023 Bangkok Motor Show next week aimed at improving a car's track performance.

The new line is called Flyweight, which, like the boxing category from which it takes its name, stands for lightness, agility, and speed.

Techart has demonstrated its potential with a new version of its Porsche 911 Turbo S-based GT Street R flagship with flyweight upgrades.

Known as the GT Street R Flyweight, the car is limited to 19 units and is available for order now.

In developing the flyweight version, engineers focused on aerodynamics, chassis, and weight.

For aerodynamics, new features include a carbon fiber front splitter, front fender vents, wheel arch extensions, and a rear wing. The wings are equipped with air intakes and have three levels of manual adjustment, allowing the driver to adjust the aero balance to suit the particular racetrack.

For weight optimization, engineers added a polycarbonate rear window, custom exhaust, and Recaro carbon fiber seats (weighing only 10.8 pounds per shell). The hood and rear air intake panel locks were also replaced with lightweight quick-release fasteners. The rear seat was also removed and the rear shelf replaced with a carbon fiber one. A roll bar and six-point harness were also installed at the rear. According to TechArt, the car is approximately 132 pounds lighter than the stock model with similar options.

And for the chassis, a custom-tuned Ohlins coilover suspension was added. The front axle is also fitted with custom wishbones for improved wheel control, according to Techart. Wheels are Techart's proprietary Formula VI racing flyweight forgings, 20 inches front and 21 inches rear. The tires are Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2 R.

Power comes from the stock GT Street R Stage 2 powertrain, based on the 911 Turbo S twin-turbo 3.8-liter flat-six with custom turbocharger, high-flow air filter, ECU tuning, and other upgrades for up to output of 800 hp and 700 lb-ft of torque.

In terms of performance, it claims 0-62 mph acceleration in 2.5 seconds, 0-124 mph acceleration in 7.5 seconds, and a top speed of over 217 mph.
