Ferrari will unveil "something special" on March 16.
Ferrari on Thursday released a teaser video depicting the steering wheel of what appears to be a new car.
The reveal is scheduled for March 16, and all Ferrari has said is that "something special" is coming.
Ferrari is known to be working on its next series of limited flagship models like the LaFerrari and the previous Enzo, which it calls the Special Series.
The March 16 reveal date is also the day before Ferrari's 499P LMH racing car, which is believed to be associated with the upcoming Special Series, makes its long-awaited return to top-level endurance racing at the Sebring 1000 Mile.
However, judging by the design of the steering wheel in the teaser, it appears to be an entry-level Ferrari. The design, especially the shape of the central spokes, resembles the steering wheel of the Ferrari Roma.
Ferrari is known to be working on a Roma convertible, and the buzzing wind noise in the short teaser video suggests that the model in the teaser is a drop-top. A prototype of the Rome Convertible was also spotted last year. The car is expected to be produced under the name Roma Spyder.
Fans may wonder why Ferrari is developing a Roma Convertible when it already has the mechanically similar Portofino M Convertible, launched in 2018 and updated in 2020, the Portofino is starting to lengthen As it is, it is possible that the Roma Convertible could take over the role of entry-level convertible.
