Lotus Envia, AC Cobra GT Roadster: best photos of the week
Lotus is moving beyond the realm of traditional sports cars with new models aimed at mainstream buyers. One of these vehicles is a sedan rumored to be the Envya, a prototype of which has just been spotted.
The other vehicle we spotted is a Mini electric crossover that sits below the Countryman. It was previewed last July by the Aceman Concept and is expected to carry that name into production.
A redesigned Mini Countryman is also on the way. Buyers will have a choice of gas or electric powertrains, and Mini has confirmed that it will be produced in Germany.
AC Cars, the British company that built the Ace sports car that Carroll Shelby used to build the original Shelby Cobra in the 1960s, is still going strong and will launch a new sports car this year. The car will be a modern take on the Cobra, with a Ford 5.0-liter V-8 engine under the hood.
Another car to be launched this year is an electric SUV with a rugged exterior and third-row seats from Kia. The car is a production version of the EV9 concept unveiled at the 2021 Los Angeles Auto Show, a teaser of which was released this week.
And finally, this week we got behind the wheel of the latest Porsche 911 GT3 RS. This car may not have the brutal acceleration of many modern supercars, but where it really shines is in its cornering and stopping ability.
