2025 Audi S3 Spyshot.
Audi is working on a mid-cycle update to its A3 range, which means that ferocious models like the S3 and RS 3 will also be getting some updates.
The latest spy shots show a prototype of the updated S3. The car should arrive at dealerships as a 2025 model.
The prototype reveals a new design inside the lights at both ends, a new grille, and new front and rear fascias. The prototype is recognizable as being for the S3 because of the upgraded brake package, which features the letter "S" clearly visible on the calipers. Also, there are quad exhaust tips at the rear, which is a traditional design of Audi's S cars.
Also expected are some cabin tweaks, including the possibility of a larger screen for the infotainment system. Current screens are up to 12.3 inches.
It is unknown if any changes are planned in the powertrain department; the S3 is currently powered by a 2.0-liter turbo four with 306 hp and 295 lb-ft of torque. This engine is mated to a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission that accelerates the S3 from a standstill to 60 mph in 4.5 seconds.
Buyers seeking higher performance can opt for the RS 3 with a 2.5-liter turbo 5 with 401 hp and 369 lb-ft. Both the S3 and RS 3 come standard with all-wheel drive.
The latest A3 series, now in its fourth generation, is based on an updated version of Volkswagen Group's front-wheel drive MQB modular platform. Basically, it is twinned under the skin with the latest Volkswagen Golf, which is scheduled to be updated at about the same time as the Audi. We also have spy shots of the updated Golf.
Stay tuned for updates as development progresses.
