Transformers: Rise of the Beast" Trailer Features Lots of Vehicle Action
The first trailer for the new Transformers movie has been released: the trailer showcases several vehicles that will appear on the big screen.
The latest film is the seventh live-action film, but Michael Bay is no longer listed as the director, although he is listed as a producer. The director is Stephen Caple Jr. who is perhaps best known for directing Creed II.
The film is a sequel to 2018's Bumblebee and is believed to be set in 1994. Interestingly, both the vehicle and the Transformers in robot mode resemble the designs used in the original cartoon from the 1980s and early 1990s.
There is also a Maximal from the 1990s Beast Wars cartoon in which the Transformers transform into animals instead of vehicles.
Vehicles seen in the trailer include the Kenworth K100, which serves as the vehicle mode for Autobot leader Optimus Prime. The Autobot faction also includes a second-generation Chevrolet Camaro as Bumblebee, a 964-generation Porsche 911 likely as Jazz, a Volkswagen microbus likely as Wheeljack, and a Ducati 916 motorcycle likely as Earthy.
Also known to appear are an R33 Nissan Skyline GT-R, a heavily modified Kenworth JF logging truck, and a GMC tow truck for the film's bad guy, Terrorcon.
Peter Cullen will once again voice Optimus Prime, while Ron Perlman has been tapped to voice Optimus Primal, the leader of the Maximals. Other voice actors include Michelle Yeoh as Airazor, Peter Dinklage as Scourge, and Christo Fernandez as Wheeljack.
"Transformers: Rise of the Beast" was released on June 9, 2023.
