BMW 3.0 CSL, De Tomaso P900: Top photos of the week
BMW this week unveiled a modern interpretation of its legendary 3.0 CSL. The new version is based on the 4 Series platform and combines BMW's most powerful production inline 6-cylinder engine with rear-wheel drive and a 6-speed manual transmission.
Ferrari unveiled the Vision Gran Turismo Concept. This design is a wild single-seater powered by a V-6 engine and three electric motors with a combined output approaching 1,400 hp.
Dutch EV startup Lightyear has begun production of its first vehicle, a streamlined hatchback covered in solar panels. The solar panels can charge the battery on sunny days, and Lightyear estimates that some owners will not need to charge their electric vehicles for months.
Mercedes-Benz sells a passenger version of its all-wheel-drive full-size Sprinter van. We test drove one and found it to be very capable both on-road and off-road.
The other vehicle we tested was a Ford Bronco Raptor. This high-performance off-roader combines a 418-horsepower twin-turbo V-6 engine with the suspension of a larger F-150 Raptor and can handle speeds over 100 mph on essentially any terrain.
And finally, De Tomaso followed up its stunning P72 supercar with the equally stunning P900 hypercar. This new car is powered by an 888-horsepower V-12 engine, and only 18 units will be produced.
