2024 Volvo EX90, 2025 Porsche 718EV: Automotive News Headlines
Volvo has unveiled a mid-size electric SUV dubbed the EX90. Although similar in size and positioning, the EX90 is not a successor to the hot-selling XC90, but an electric alternative; deliveries are scheduled to begin in early 2024, and it will be built at the Volvo plant in Charleston, South Carolina, along with the related Polestar 3.
Porsche's CEO confirmed plans for the 718 electric car earlier this year, and now the first prototype has been spotted. The prototype is for the 718 Boxster Convertible, but an electric 718 Cayman Coupe is also supposedly planned. Both models will share the same technology and styling as Porsche's Mission R concept from 2021.
Another Porsche in today's headlines is the new 911 Dakar. This is an off-road-ready version of the iconic sports car, which Porsche will unveil at the 2022 Los Angeles Auto Show this month.
