Rolls-Royce's First EV, Mercedes' Midsize Electric SUV: Top Photos of the Week
Rolls-Royce has entered the EV game with the new Spectre. Rolls-Royce is a large coupe that claims to be the spiritual successor to the Phantom Coupe.
Jeep has also entered the EV game with the Avenger. This subcompact electric crossover will go on sale in Europe in 2023, but is not expected to land in the US.
Mercedes-Benz this week unveiled the EQE SUV, the latest member of its EQ family of EVs. It will arrive in dealerships next year, with an AMG-tuned version offering up to 677 hp soon after launch.
Cadillac unveiled a production model of the Celestic, confirming that it will arrive in 2024 for over $300,000. While expensive for a Cadillac, the hand-built nature and level of personalization make this large electric hatch resemble a coachbuilt car.
GMC, another GM brand, unveiled its Sierra electric pickup truck. It was unveiled in the form of the upscale Denali Edition 1, but more grades are planned.
Porsche's 992-generation 911 spawned a Carrera T variant this week. The car starts out as a base Carrera, but loses about 100 pounds thanks to a number of deleted features, including rear seats.
Another 911 that made headlines this week was the latest GT3 RS. Porsche is celebrating the 50th anniversary of the Carrera RS 2.7, the ancestor of the modern GT3 RS, with a special edition package for the modern circuit star.
And finally, the Hyundai Azera lives on outside the U.S. as the Grandia, and this mid-size sedan received a handsome redesign. It now looks to be a member of the Genesis family, rather than a sort of rival to the Toyota Avalon.
