Alpine Concept and Modern Renault 4 at the 2022 Paris Motor Show
Alpine is developing three electric vehicles to be introduced starting in 2024. One of these vehicles could be previewed as early as the 2022 Paris Motor Show, which starts on October 17.
The French performance brand announced plans last week to unveil a concept described as the embodiment of its future product strategy and a new phase in its transformation into an EV company.
No further details were given, but Alpine's planned EVs are expected to include a crossover, a hot hatchback, and a sports car to replace the A110.
A hot hatch will be the first to appear. This is scheduled for 2024 and is expected to be a tuned version of the latest Model 5 hatchback, inspired by the original Model 5 hatchback (sold in the US as Le Cal) launched by parent company Renault in the 1970s.
The planned crossover, to be called the GT X-Over, is slated for 2025 and is already being tested in prototype form.
The sports car is slated for 2026. It is being developed along with the spiritual successor to Lotus, the Elise, and will use the Lotus platform known as the E-Sport.
In addition to the Alpine Concept, the Paris show will feature a modern interpretation of the Renault 4 hatchback known as the 4L. having been in production for over 30 years, the 4, like the 5, is an important car in Renault's history, so it is not surprising that Renault is bringing it back
Renault is also a major player in the market for the 4.
Renault also plans to show an electric version of the Kangoo compact van in Paris, as well as a concept believed to be related to the modern 5 project.
