Bayside Blue R34 Nissan GT-R driven by Paul Walker for sale
The price of an R34 Nissan Skyline GT-R has been skyrocketing lately, courtesy of GT-A International, the car driven by Paul Walker in "Wild Speed 4."
Walker is an avid GT-R fan, which is one of the reasons his character Brian O'Connor appeared behind the wheel of the GT-R on numerous occasions. The first was a silver R34 GT-R in 2 Fast 2 Furious. The studio wanted to use a Dodge Neon SRT-4 instead.
The GT-R in "2 Fast 2 Furious" featured elaborate graphics, which Walker did not like. He reportedly asked to omit the graphics from the GT-R in "Wild Speed 4" to give it a cleaner look than previous entries. The car currently has only 3,278 miles on the odometer and is accompanied by a copy of the Universal Studios rental agreement to prove that the car is authentic.
Like all R34 GT-Rs, this car has a six-speed manual transmission, all-wheel drive, all-wheel steering, and the legendary RB26 2.6-liter twin-turbo inline-six engine. The engine is officially rated at 276 hp and 260 lb-ft of torque, although it is generally believed that these figures are understated to satisfy a gentleman's agreement among Japanese automakers to limit output to 276 hp for safety reasons.
The car also features a Turbonetics front-mounted intercooler, NISMO low-down springs and NE-1 exhaust, roll cage, ARC titanium strut tower bar, Volk Racing 19-inch RE30 wheels, front 6 piston/rear 4-piston caliper Rotora brake system, NISMO Version II front bumper and side skirts, and other modifications.
The interior features an Alcantara-clad Momo steering wheel, OMP front seats with five-point harnesses, and a Windows PC linked to an MFD Xenarc display for a movie-like digital meter display.
The listing claims that the car has a Florida title, but typically the R34 GT-R does not qualify for the 25-year import rule until 2024 at the earliest. Under this rule, the R32 and R33 models have already been imported into the United States. These earlier generation GT-Rs have similar mechanical setups to the R34 GT-R and generally sell for considerably less, but none have the star power of this particular GT-R.
