2024 Mercedes-Benz AMG GT Spy Shots and Video: Redesigned Sports Car Spotted
Despite Mercedes-Benz AMG replacing its GT roadster with a redesigned 2022 SL last year, the coupe version of the GT sports car is still around and will be redesigned soon.
The latest spy shots and videos show a prototype of the redesigned GT, which is expected to be unveiled late this year or early next year. The car should appear as a 2024 model.
The redesigned GT will ride on a newly developed platform known as MSA (Modular Sports Architecture), which debuted on the redesigned SL. According to our spy footage, the GT and SL have similar proportions, but the unique light and fascia design distinguishes them.
Naturally, there will be other differences between the two vehicles besides styling. For example, the SL will have a convertible top and 2+2 seats; the GT will be coupe-only this time and should stick to a two-seater cabin; the GT should also be more hardcore tuned than the SL; the SL will be a performance car that seeks to combine luxury and comfort It will appeal to buyers, whereas GT buyers are generally all about performance.
While we cannot see the interior, there should be a difference here as well: the GT may omit the large tablet screen on the center stack that is present in the SL.
[10] Like the SL, the GT should come standard with a twin-turbo 4.0-liter V-8 and a 9-speed automatic. However, there is no doubt that the GT variant will offer more power than the current SL with a maximum output of 577 hp. The GT should also have rear-wheel drive as standard, with all-wheel drive as an option; all-wheel drive is standard on the SL, at least here in the US.
