2024 Polestar 2 Spy Shots: Mild Updates Planned
Polestar appears to be developing a mild update to the Polestar 2.
A prototype has been spotted, sporting a new wheel pattern and an improved grille. The grille features more vertical slats than the current design and may have some sealed elements to match the latest Paulstar design seen on the planned Paulstar 5 sedan and Paulstar 6 roadster.
The prototype also features torque sensors on the wheel hubs, and the vehicle's electronic chassis system may be tweaked in some way with this update, as it was spotted at a location where the automaker often conducts brake tests.
The Polestar 2 was a new addition to the Polestar lineup in 2021, and has been updated each model year since; for 2023, Polestar has added more power, more range, and new colors. The brand also released a special BST Edition 270, a new version of the Polestar that is available in a variety of colors, including.
The Polestar 2 now comes standard with a single 231 hp motor on the front axle. Above that, a dual-motor, all-wheel drive setup is available, with 408 hp standard and 476 hp when a power upgrade is selected. It is not clear if any adjustments will be made to the powertrain.
This updated version will be introduced late next year as the 2024 model. Before that, Polestar will unveil the Polestar 3, a mid-size SUV developed alongside the electric successor to Volvo's XC90.
