The Deus Vaillanne electric hypercar will be unveiled at the 2022 New York Auto Show.
Austrian startup Deus plans to unveil an electric hypercar at the 2022 New York International Auto Show in April.
Deus revealed the car's name, Vayanne, on Thursday and released new teaser photos.
Details are scarce, but both Italdesign and Williams Advanced Engineering have been confirmed as partners.
Italdesign has stated that it is supporting Deus in some of the prototype building and final production planning.
Giorgio Gamberini, head of business development at Italdesign, said in a statement, "Thanks to our particular experience in development and pre-series production, we are able to offer strategic support and empowerment to newcomers in the automotive and mobility industry, helping them consolidate their ideas and vision and help them prepare for the road."
Although Italdesign is now part of the Volkswagen Group, it operates like an independent design firm, much as it did under the leadership of its founder, Giorgetto Giugiaro. For example, Italdesign recently worked with Nissan on the GT-R's 50th anniversary project. Italdesign is also working with Hyundai DeLorean on the new DMC-12.
Recently, Italdesign also partnered with Williams Advanced Engineering to develop a modular EV platform, called EVX, which will produce up to 1,341 hp and could be the basis for a Deus hypercar. According to Deus' announcement, WAE is contributing its battery and electrification expertise to the project.
WAE was once the engineering arm of the Williams F1 team. Acquired in January by Australian mining company Fortescue Metals Group, it will use WAE's expertise to develop environmentally friendly freight trains, mining trucks, and industrial heavy equipment.
More details will be forthcoming as the New York Auto Show is set to take place on April 13. Our full coverage of the event is available on our dedicated hub.
