Jeep has unveiled the 2022 Moab Easter Safari Concept.
Jeep will bring a new concept car to the 56th annual Moab Easter Safari, April 9-17 in Moab, Utah.
One of the vehicles will be a 4xe plug-in hybrid, Jeep confirmed in a press release. One of the two sketches Jeep released Friday is a close-up of the Grand Cherokee.
Like the Wrangler 4xe, the Grand Cherokee uses a 2.0-liter turbo four engine, an eight-speed automatic transmission, two electric motors, and a mechanical four-wheel drive system similar to previous Jeep models. It is intended to deliver an EPA-rated electric range of 26 miles while maintaining towing capacity (Jeep offers a 6,000-pound towing capacity) and off-road capability.
Jeep plans to offer electrified models in all of its models by 2025. Jeep unveiled its electric Wrangler concept in Moab last year and is preparing for EVs and plug-in hybrids by adding charging stations in Moab and other off-road spots.
The second teaser image shows the outline of a pickup truck, so we can expect a concept based on the Jeep Gladiator. Jeep has announced four concepts for 2021, but we will have to wait a bit longer to see what else Jeep has in store.
