Black Lake XT1, $250,000 for the Ultimate Raptor Fighter

Tuning firm Blacklake Research and Development is turning the Chevrolet Silverado into a Ford F-150 Raptor fighter that General Motors will not build.

Blacklake's XT1 starts with a Silverado 1500 Crew Cab and transforms it with a carbon Kevlar widebody that adds 8.0 inches to its width; Blacklake claims the widened fenders are designed for OEM-level fit and finish, and the company replaced the entire bed rather than simply installing new panels.

The XT1 also gets a new front bumper with an integrated warn winch, but retains the stock bed access steps to the rear bumper.

The wider body makes room for 35-inch BF Goodrich KM3 tires and 17-inch beadlock-compatible wheels. The truck also features a long-travel suspension with billet aluminum control arms and JRI internal bypass shocks. The latter are tall enough to penetrate the cargo bed.

Blacklake added a Lingenfelter/Magnuson supercharger and HP Tuners ECU to the stock 6.2-liter V-8 engine, while the XT1 retained Silverado's stock 10-speed automatic transmission with 3.73 front and rear end gear ratios and an electronically locking rear differential.

Prices start at approximately $250,000. The XT1 is not the only tuned Silverado; Specialty Vehicle Engineering plans to produce a limited run of supercharged 6.2-liter V-8 trucks, both off-road and street versions, each with 850 hp The truck will have 850 hp each in both off-road and street versions. Meanwhile, Chevrolet will introduce the Silverado ZR2 off-roader for the 2022 model year, but it may not be a true Raptor competitor.
