Spy shots of the 2023 Mercedes-Benz AMG GT: a first look at the updated sports car.
Despite Mercedes-Benz AMG redesigning its GT roadster into the 2022 SL last year, the coupe version of the GT sports car is still around and will be redesigned soon.
Our latest spy shots show a prototype of the redesigned GT. This car should appear as a 2023 model.
The redesigned GT will ride on a newly developed platform known as MSA (Modular Sports Architecture), which debuted on the redesigned SL. According to our spy shots, the GT and SL have similar proportions, but the unique light and fascia design helps to separate the two.
Naturally, there will be other differences between the two vehicles besides styling. For example, the SL has a convertible top and 2+2 seats; the GT is coupe-only this time and should stick to a two-seater cabin; the GT should also be more hardcore tuned than the SL; the SL will combine luxury and comfort with performance The SL will appeal to buyers looking for performance combined with luxury and comfort, whereas GT buyers are generally all about performance.
While we cannot see the interior, there should be a difference here as well: the GT may omit the large tablet screen on the center stack that is present in the SL.
[10] Like the SL, the GT should come standard with a twin-turbo 4.0-liter V-8 and a 9-speed automatic. However, it is certain that the GT variant will offer more power than the current SL with a maximum output of 577 hp. The GT should also have rear-wheel drive as standard, with all-wheel drive as an option; all-wheel drive is standard on the SL.
