2005 Porsche Carrera GT 342 miles Sold.
If you have the desire (and the money) to own one of Porsche's most legendary supercars, don't delay. A one-owner 2005 Porsche Carrera GT with only 342 miles on the odometer is being auctioned through P Car Market, and the auction will end in just two days.
First spotted by Jalopnik, this GT Silver Metallic car is one of only 1,270 built between 2003 and 2006.Unveiled at the 2000 Paris Motor Show, the Carrera GT was initially a concept car not intended for production It was initially only a concept car, not a production car. However, Porsche had a V-10 engine on hand from the aborted Le Mans project, and the introduction of the Cayenne soon provided the company with plenty of cash.
Originally developed for Formula One in the 1990s and then repurposed for the Le Mans program that never materialized, the V-10 engine was eventually adapted for road cars with a displacement of 5.7 liters. It produced a maximum output of 603 hp and 435 lb-ft of torque, which was transmitted to the rear wheels via a 6-speed manual transmission.
A carbon-fiber monocoque kept the Carrera GT's curb weight to 3,042 pounds, and its 0-62 mph acceleration time of 3.9 seconds was impressive for a naturally aspirated car with a manual transmission.
Chassis 0855, which was offered at auction, was delivered through a Texas dealer and has been in the original owner's collection since new. With a high price of approximately $1.33 million at the time of publication, the car is on track to break sales records. Last month, a Carrera GT with 2,700 miles on it set a record of $1.31 million at Bring a Trailer, Jalopnik noted.
