The 2022 GMC Hummer EV is unveiled at the SEMA Show with plenty of accessories
The first customer examples of GMC's 2022 Hummer EV should be rolling off the line at General Motors' Detroit Hamtramck plant by the end of the year, and GMC will offer the first examples in showrooms for its electric pickup truck and planned SUV variants after eager to preview some of the accessories.
The automaker plans to bring a number of Hummer EV accessories to this year's SEMA Show in Las Vegas, November 2-5. These will be previewed by two Hummer EV pickups and one Hummer EV SUV.
Items to be previewed include a motorized retractable tonneau cover, 50-inch roof-mounted light bar, front auxiliary lights, rocker protectors with integrated assist steps, and multiple storage solutions. There will also be cosmetic items such as performance red and tech bronze color accents, decals, and a variety of wheel patterns.
To facilitate the installation of powered accessories, the Hummer EV's infotainment system will feature a virtual auxiliary switch.
GMC said Thursday that it plans to offer nearly 200 products for the Hummer EV.
GMC will also showcase Chip Ganassi Racing's Extreme-E electric racing SUV; GMC is a sponsor of Chip Ganassi Racing's Extreme-E team, whose contender uses the Hummer EV's styling cues.
SEMA's styling cues are used by the team's contenders.
