The Hennessey VelociRaptor 600 based on the 2021 Ford F-150 Raptor makes its debut.
The new generation Ford F-150 Raptor is now available for 2021, and now Hennessey has announced its own tuned version of this performance pickup truck.
Hennessey's tuned F-150 Raptor is a continuation of the company's VelociRaptor line, and this VelociRaptor 600 maintains the Raptor's 3.5-liter twin-turbo V-6, but dials up the power to 600 hp and 622 lb-ft of torque This is up from 450 hp and 622 lb-ft of torque in the stock model. This is a significant increase over the stock 450 hp and 510 lb-ft, and the VelociRaptor 600 can hit 60 mph from a standstill in 4.2 seconds and the quarter-mile in 12.9 seconds.
Major changes to the powertrain include a high-flow intake and exhaust system, a high-capacity intercooler, and new engine management. Hennessey's management is also designed to send more torque to the rear wheels when launching.
Beyond the powertrain improvements, Hennessey offers a custom front and rear fascia with a bull bar (shown above) with integrated LED lights for a tougher look. Buyers can also opt for custom 20-inch wheels with 37-inch off-road tires, a suspension leveling kit, and huge Brembo six-piston front brakes.
Pricing for the VelociRaptor 600 starts at $85,950, including the cost of the donor F-150 Raptor. Production is capped at 250 units per year, with customer deliveries expected to begin in early 2022.
Those seeking more power from the F-150 can opt for the Hennessey Venom 775, which is based on the F-150 Platinum and powered by a 5.0-liter V-8. Ford is also working on a Raptor with a V-8 engine, called the Raptor R, which will be available in the F-150 and F-150 Platinum models, as well as the F-150 Venom 775.
