A 2018 Ford GT owned by Vaughan Gittin Jr. is up for sale.
A 2018 Ford GT once owned by drifting star Vaughn Gittin Jr. is for sale at Bring a Trailer.
Currently located in North Carolina, the GT was purchased new by Gittin Jr. from Bob Davidson Ford Lincoln in Baltimore, Maryland, according to the listing. With just under 2,000 miles on the odometer, Gittin Jr.'s enthusiasm for showing off his supercar was anything but gentle.
The car is finished in Leadfoot Gray with carbon fiber exterior trim and silver brake calipers. The interior is in the Dark Energy color scheme and includes carbon fiber Sparco bucket seats upholstered in cloth and Alcantara.
The car currently sports stock 20-inch forged wheels with Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2 tires, but it also comes with RTR Aero 5 forged wheels owned by Gittin Jr. According to the listing, these have the same dimensions as the stock wheels and are also fitted with Cup 2 tires.
The mid-mounted 3.5-liter twin-turbo V-6 engine remains unchanged, producing 647 hp and 550 lb-ft of torque. This power is sent to the rear wheels via a Getrag 7-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission.
Ford famously screened potential GT customers and offered the car only to brand loyalists. However, there seems to be a limit to the exclusive appeal. In addition to Gittin Jr. the GT's design leader, Morey Cullum, is also offering the car for sale. At the time of publication of this article, the high bid price for Gittin Jr.'s GT is $750,000 with five days left until the auction. This is the amount Ford charged for the more powerful 2020 GT Liquid Carbon version, but lower than some of the GTs sold at auction.
